JEE Main 2018 Notification- eligibility, application, dates
The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2018 will be conducted by the IITs . The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs. The decisions of the JAB 2018 will be final in all matters related to JEE (Advanced) 2018 and admission to IITs.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India ने 2017 से जेईई पैटर्न में दो परिवर्तनों के बाद अधिसूचित किया है मध्य प्रदेश, हरियाणा, उत्तराखंड, नागालैंड, उड़ीसा और कुछ अन्य संस्थानों के राज्यों में जेईई (मुख्य) प्रणाली में शामिल हो गए हैं, तथापि, उनके प्रवेश संबंधी मानदंडों को संबंधित प्राधिकरणों द्वारा अधिसूचित किया जाएगा। इसलिए, उन राज्यों में संस्थानों में प्रवेश लेने वाले उम्मीदवार, जो पहले उनके राज्य स्तर की परीक्षा के आधार पर स्वीकार करते थे, को भी जेईई (मुख्य) -2018 आवेदन पत्र ऑनलाइन भरे |

Eligibility Criteria JEE Main 2018-
All the candidates must fulfil each and every one of the following five criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2018.
Performance in JEE (Main) 2018: Candidates should be among the top 2,24,000* (including all categories) in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2018.
The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are: 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and the remaining 50.5% is OPEN for all. Within each of these four categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.
Age limit: Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1993. Five years relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1988.
Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in consecutive years.
Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2017 or 2018.
However, if the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declares the results for the academic year 2015-16 after June 2016, then the candidates of that board who appeared for their class XII exam in 2016 are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2018, provided they meet the other eligibility criteria. In case, the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2015-16 before June 2016 but the result of a particular candidate was withheld, then the candidate will not be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2018.
Criterion 5 – Earlier admission at IITs: A candidate should NOT have been admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past. Candidates whose admission at IITs was cancelled after joining any IIT are also NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2018.
Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2017 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2018.
The candidates who paid seat acceptance fee in 2017 but (i) did not report at any reporting centre OR, (ii) withdrew before the last round of seat allotment, OR, (iii) had their seat cancelled (for whatever reason) before the last round of seat allotment for IITs, during the joint seat allocation in 2017 are eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2018.
However, in any of the above cases, the candidate is required to fulfil the conditions mentioned from criterion 1 to criterion 4.
Score & Result for JEE (Main)-2018
The score and rank of Paper-I of JEE (Main) - 2018 for all candidates will be declared by 30th April 2018. This score shall comprise the actual marks obtained in Paper-I of JEE (Main)-2018 along with the status of those who qualify for appearing in JEE (Advanced)-2018 provided and subject to other conditions of eligibility being met. The rank shall comprise All India rank and All India category rank.
No score/rank card will be dispatched to the candidates and the candidates are advised to download their score/rank cards from the JEE (Main) Website http://jeemain.nic.in only
Eligibility for NITs, IIITs & CFTIs participating through Seat Allocation Board:
Admission to NITs, IIITs & CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank as explained above in section 2.10 subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class exam or be in the top 20% in the 12th class exam conducted by the respective Boards
For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class exam
Subject combinations required in the qualifying exam for admission to B.E./B. Tech. & B. Arch./B. Planning Courses in NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs shall be as under.
For B.E. /B Tech - Required Criteria based on Class 12th/Equivalent qualifying Exam; passed 10+2 Exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.
B.Arch./B.Planning- Passed 10+2 Examination with Mathematics.
Number of Seats in various Institutions:
For all admission related procedures/queries, the candidates are advised to refer the website of JoSAA, Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) or the concerned State Govt. /Institute after declaration of ranks of JEE (Main) - 2018
Reservation of Seats
As per Govt. of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. These categories are:
I. OBC if they belong to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)
IV. PwD with 40% or more disability
Benefit of reservation for admission to NITs/IIITs and CFTIs shall be given only to those classes/castes/tribes which are in the respective central list published by the Govt of India
For admission to State Engineering colleges who have opted for admission through JEE (Main)-2018, the reservation rules of that state shall apply
Seat Allocation Process & Admission Procedure
Candidates shall be offered admission based on their choices and All India Ranks of JEE (Main)-2018 through a Seat Allocation Process to be announced later. The candidates will be able to make their choices online for branches/programmes and institutes at appropriate time.
