GATE 2017 - GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is the All India Entrance Examination for admissions to the M.Tech, M.E courses at the IITs, NITs, other GFTIs and many private universities and institutes across the country. IISc Bangalore will be conducting GATE 2017 on January 30 & 31, 2017 as well as February 6 & 7, 2017. Candidates in their final year can also apply and appear for GATE 2017.
GATE 2017 will be held for a total of 23 papers inclusive of a new one -Petroleum Engineering. There is provision for a buffer session on 2017 which may be used to hold the exam in case of any unforeseen circumstances. GATE will be organized by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc) and administered in association with the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) listed below on this page for the National Coordination Board - GATE, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Department of Higher Education and the Government of India.
GATE Online Application Form 2017

So all the candidates who satisfy the GATE 2017 requirement can apply through online mode on or before the last date which is upcomng. GATE 2017 Education Qualification:
To apply for this exam candidates must have done their B.Tech/BE and also those Candidates who are in final year can also apply for GATE 2017.
Candidates who have done Master’s degree in any branch of Statistics/ Mathematics/ Science / and Computer Science or corresponding to it can also apply.
How to Apply For GATE 2017
All candidates have to apply only ONLINE.
- Male Candidates (General/OBC) – Rs 1500/-
- Women Candidates of any category – Rs 750/-
- Other Candidates (General/OBC) – Rs 1500/-
- SC / ST / PwD* Category Candidates – Rs 750/-
For GATE 2015 payments would have to be made through online by selecting either using any bank Debit Card/Credit Card, Net Banking or e-challan facilities ONLY.GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS website) can be accessed from the website of the respective Zonal GATE Offices or from the website of the GATE 2017 Organizing Institute.
GATE 2017 Admit Card
The Admit Card can only be downloaded from the zonal GATE websites . Admit Cards will NOT be sent by post/email. Bring a print-out of the downloaded Admit Card to the Test Center along with the original and valid photo identification(NO photocopy / scanned copy/NOT expired). Please note that you have to give details of this ID proof while filling the online application. Candidates will NOT be permitted to take the test, if this original and valid photo identification is not presented.
The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3-hour duration that contains 65 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of both multiple choice questions (MCQ) and numerical answer type questions.In all the papers, there will be a total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks, out of which 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks are in General Aptitude (GA).
The Admit Card of GATE 2017 will be available from upcoming visit on website . Candidates can download the GATE 2017 Admit Card after logging in through GOAPS. They will have to print the Admit Card and carry it to the Exam hall while appearing for the GATE 2017 exam.
The GATE 2017 Admit Card must be downloaded and printed in colour from GOAPS after it is made available to the eligible candidates. Candidates must also carry a valid photo ID along with their GATE 2017 Admit Card – the details are given below on this page.
How To Download the GATE 2017 Admit Card
- Candidates have to log in to GOAPS to download their Admit Card for GATE 2017
- Candidates will have to enter their GATE 2017 Enrolment ID/Email Address and the password to download their GATE 2017 Admit Card
